wow, its been a while since i last updated, but then again theres not much to say? well, uni has started, first week wasn't all that bad. i only have 2days per wk this spring semester =)
mondays and thursdays, but long hours. 10.30-5, with only 1/2hr break. and then i have the dodgy thurs 10.30-7, with a 3hr gap and marketing tuts on every 2nd wk. i've also been 'networking'. ahahah. last wk, in the eco lec, the guy behind me wouldn't stop talking, and i told him to shutup. later, we were given a 10min break, and so i apologised to him, and i find out that he works at ernst & young, doing auditing. omfg! yeh and move along to thurs, i befriended this girl who's doing an internship at pwc, doing auditing and gets paid 27$ after tax, and got 98 in acct!! im still wondering who got the 500$ reward CPA offered, someone got 99 but a 100 is prob in there somewhere...
hypothesis )
wk2: monday - my buddy, peter fell off his chair in systems modelling. lmfao. actually, more like he broke the seat, when he sat on it. in the tut, i befriended these 2 international student guys, they're german and they're cute. their names are phillip and matt, and well they're not exchange students, its called 'freemovers' in germany. well, we were doing questions in groups, and i joined the 2 german guys, not knowing that the group which we were in, was our group for the group assignment. hah. well from what i've heard, no one wants to do group assignments with international students. dear me. they speak english, so thats alright, although they dont fully understand english, if you know what i mean. lets hope that they're hardworking. has anyone done a group assignement with international students?
eco - befriended a 2nd yr BIT student, who is a friend of anthony's and her name is pauline! and shes from the goldcoast! she lives in uts residence, i never knew we provided places for students to stay. i've never even seen it. ahaha. we did demand and supply today =) and hardcore elasticity, not like yr11 stuff. like shit, we had to apply the midpt formula. the lec even wrote y=f(x), i was like whoaah i havent seen that since last yr! in our tut, our tutor was err weird. ahahah. he graduated from usyd, did 'developing eco' and didnt really know how to explain the prod'n possibility frontier. haha, but eventually he got there and people actually understood.
random:
- geoff has the exact same pair of glasses as me, and they're for girls!
- my left foot is smaller than my right foot
- my isp lec is now my systems modelling tut. fuck
- there are only lifts and no stairs to get to my programming lec, and it's in the science building
- i want to learn french
- there are faces when you look at those pink and blue lightboards thing in railway square
- i want to be in the uni src, or any other positions they have available in the clubs
- all the marketing staff in this semester are females
- prison break returns on 21st august
- life is random

ah and so mid-semester breaks finished and as you may know i was whinging and complaining at sue's party because i dont want to go uni. yeah, i've started hating uni...but i've discovered a few things here and there. so atm, things ain't all that bad. well, maybe its because 2 IT assignments are out of my way and i can finally breathe..well not for long. (yeah, and now ican finally say i've experienced finishing uni assignments till 3 in the morning. and im never going to do it again!) and so far, the current is steering my direction.
  • monday
  • : my 1hr mpo tut reminded me of highschool...ahhh. we had a substitute, and remember how no one ever listens to sub, just pretty much talk over them and bludge. well that was what happened during that hr. (well at least for me and my mpo group). we truly are the best at being the laziest. seriously. we sit and talk and then when the tut picks on us, we toss the sheet of paper about george bush amongst ourselves because none of us wants to get up and talk infront of the class. funny. another funny thing was that our opposition from the debate received their marks, which i assume was 'barely a pass' because they've gone to complain to the dean. haha. and look at us, we got a distinction =D *flashes nerd badge*
  • wednesday
  • : came to uni just to hand in my c.f assignment. yeah that was a bitch. computer fundamentals isn't actually easy, in fact its harder than what the BITS and Bscuits do. boo!
mm.. yes and we formed our accounting 'study group' hah.. yeh. 6ppl in a group. 12questions. each do a pract and theory question. great!

anyways, back to saturday arvo/evening it was sue's bday, and it was fab to see everyone! ah, it was great catching-up, having girly talks and laugh about stupid things. i miss those days. haha, sue your pharmacy guys planned to rock up all in black, eh? even vicky blended in with the crowd. but then again.. they all belong in that med/science field. oh, and pauline, guess what time my dad finally got up and said its time to leave? past 12.30ish! ahaha. but yes, sue great party! *thumbs up*

so whats on my agenda for tomorrow? i just cant wait to get a hair cut! i think the last time i got it cut.. was like last yr cny period. hahah whoah. thats more than a yr! yeahh. that'll be the most exciting thing for the week.

oh and last of all, something to make u point and laugh at.. the dean of IT's interpretation of what UTS stands for. Ugliest Tower in Sydney. (it seriously is.. my acct lec told us that its won the most ugliest tower in sydney for 5yrs straight and runner up was the fairfax building for 4yrs in a row. and hey what do u know? uts buys it off fairfax and its now currently known as building 10 (the IT faculty). what legends! =)

haha so how was my first day? well, the "Information Systems Principles" lecture sucked. we're given an assignment next wk. great. it was so boring. i almost fell asleep. our lec has a fobby accent and pretty much read off the powerpoint and hardly explained. and when she did, it was a 'business approach'. so i dont really get how "input process and output" fits in...oh and the lec goes for 1.5hr but we ended up finishing 11.40am...ah, made my way down to the union desk and joined the business club (AYBC). for lunch, we went to have pho, since my buddy stephanie has never had pho. oh and shes asian. and officially cool since we have the same taste in music and loves john mayer! =) nb: all the non-viets pronunce pho as "fo", thats so uncool. market city (im getting so sick of it). pool. walked to haymarket building, half an hr early for our 4pm "Managing People and Organisations" lecture. now this was really good in comparison to the IT one. and there were heaps more people. oh and SMH, you are right! all the mature age students are at the front row. and u see the international students followed behind. haha. one of our assessments is an 'online debate' kinda thing. interesting. oh and this is so gay, we cant use the internet as one of our references, when it comes to writing essays. so overall, not entirely that super good.

as many of you might have noticed, i am giving the impression that uni is oh so very exciting. hah. well the prospect of going to uni next wk; learning and studying is freaking me out. although the social life is something i'm looking forward to, getting back into 'time management' and 'studying habits' isnt one of my favourites. my timetable came out last night, and i was just pretty pissed off seeing that i had a 4day/wk study basis, i was expecting a 3day/wk routine, which i made possible! =) hahah YEAH! so now i've got wed and fri off, but the thing im not too happy with, is the 6-8pm accounting for business lecture. like wtf. whats up with u business lecs, they're nocturnal or something. gRRR!
anyway, point is, im here to recap my 'ever so life changing uni camp experience' hahaah. ah, well i think the 2nd year (yellow shirts) have influenced me in some way, or another...

  • day1.13th feb.monday:bus left at around 1.15pmish, uts haymarket building. 3 double decker buses. macquarie bank was very generous and gave each and every one of us a bag (i thought it was pretty good) haha. and we were also given 50$ camp cash =D. camp cash is sorta like an incentive. fake money, where we can obtain from doing stupid things infront of yellow shirts/gambling/activities/etc. by the end of the 3rd day, theres an auction. everyone had thought that this 'undisclosed' camp was like some 4hr trip, however it turned out only to be 1.5hr, at Yarramundi Youth Camp, somewhere in/near Richmond. we were introduced to the dean/lecs/prof/whatever of the IT faculty and had some speaker from some company talked to us. we were split into groups 2 do the usual 'get to know each other' activities. i came 3rd in twister, however im not in any of the pictures.

    Image hosting by Photobucket

if you can see in this pic, its the krispy kreme contest. they tied the donuts onto a string and made the kids eat it for camp cash.

    Image hosting by Photobucket

later that day, we had 'humpty dumpty'. we're put into teams and our objective is to design a contraption so that the egg inside wont break. our group passed 1st round and won $300camp cash, but didnt pass 2nd round. oh, and there was this guy in my group who looked a lot like pete murray! however, he says other people reckons he looks like ridge from the bold and the beautiful. eww.

    Image hosting by Photobucket
the purples are $5 and reds are $10 camp cash. check out the yolk!
next we had trivia, which is a lot of fun! =) we were given general knowledge/music/geography/sport questions and had breaks in between. our group was called mikha.com.au (mikha is a yellow shirt)and just by naming our team that we got given a lot of camp cash. hahaha.

    Image hosting by Photobucket
oooh, if i knew they were doing the 'thriller' dance, i would've joined!

    Image hosting by Photobucket
    scoreboard/dom and steve.

later that night...there was this really weird girl in our cabin (think of katie kelly), she cried because she couldnt sleep and lights weren't out yet and told me and my new found friends off for playing cards. wtf. so we moved into the change/spare room and continued playing cards...oh, and whats even better, she slept at the bunk on top of me, and she was snoring. i barely had any sleep that night. prob at most 4hrs.

  • day2.14th feb.tues:had cereal for breakfast.went to the tent and they put on a play to tell us the moral of uni.ie. dont plagarise. they have this site, which checks everyones essay to see if they've got like the same sentence.well the play was hilarious, esp with mikha doing the fob accent: ENGRISH?!hahahha.

    Image hosting by Photobucket
. after that, we were split into BIZCOMP/BISCUIT/BIT/MATHSCOMP to discuss about our courses. (NB: BIZCOMP=business/computing BISCUIT=science in it/some other long diploma crap BIT=the kids we dont like.haha, aka info tech and MATHSCOMP=speaks for itself for all those nerdy 4umaths/ipt/it geeks. free time was next or you could sign up for abseiling/rock climbing/high ropes/etc. well i chose free time and that was really good.spent first bit of it talking to phuc, then went to play poker and then basketball. hahaha, oh bball was so goood. i havent done that much exercise in a very long time..i only scored once, u should've seen how tall the aussie guys were, omfg, they took advantage and blocked my way everytime i tried to score. yeh, well i was pretty tired afterwards and so i sat on the table and watched my 'friends' play handball. oh, quote of the day, this is so funny. some random guy decided to join them play handball. he loves it, he screamed out "handball is the greatest sport ever" lmfao. im just like err wtf. so for dinnner we had bbq, it wasn't good. like wtf is in the meat. hmm. yeh. oh and the limited edition, $69 camp cash was floating around this day. haha. yeh, so after bbq we had this fashion parade.

    Image hosting by Photobucket
the dance party was the next event. i learnt how to do the nutbush! hahaha, we should do it on paulines bday, its the most easiest dance! yeah, well it was pretty stuffy inside so i got out to wait till they played dr.pressure which came out 2hrs later.great. yeh, so itch (yellow shirt) looked bored and was hanging out with me. hahaha, since we share the same love for rock music, he gave me pretty much all his camp cash!YEAH! oh and we had a brilliant idea to trash their party by moshing. hahaha. we didnt end up doing that, because "shut up" didnt come on. jase (4th yr yellow shirt, and a boyband lover) came along and gave me his entire camp cash because i was naming all the backstreet boys/nsync/blue singles released in order. hahhaha. by the end of the night/next morning i had like 15cm thick of $20notes! *grins* well after a long chat with the yellow shirts, made my way to play poker with imaginary money (i was like no ones taking my camp cash!). well i got really tired and sleepy so i left to head back to the cabin, 1.30am. most of them didnt get to sleep the whole day n some went back to sleep 3.30am. hahaha. ahh.

  • day3.15th feb.wed:auction day.there were some really weird/ok items. i knew i should've bidded for that UTS keyring! hahahha. ah but ended up with movie passes sponsored by macquarie bank for 34grand. there was the ibm usb mobile charger, which got up to around 50grand. and there was the ibm cashmere jacket, which looked pretty good.

    Image hosting by Photobucket
the yellow shirts.L-R: itch, dom, in pink is ngoc, guy wearing a shirt that says 'big' is steve, below bottom corner is jase, guy next to him is mikha.

    18!
whoah, well the past few weeks have actually been 'busy'.
  • 1. went to melbourne, from sun22jan-thurs26jan. it was alright. noted a few different things though; like less buildings, less trains but you've got the trams to compensate for that, more passionate about the arts and weird weather (you remember that boiling hot to instant cool weather in syd?)
so how did i spend my 5days in melb, you may ask?
day1:syd to melb. got there around 9ish, 2hr delay due to the temp. rising to about 43degrees.
day2:dad's friend took us around melb. had yumcha at springvale (melb's cabra). went to places like preston (melb's burwood).box hill.victoria harbour (melb's darling harbour). passed monash uni (i never knew it was in melb).dinner at richmond (they love repetition eg. tran tran's pharmacy). st. kilda. williamstown. crown casino (they've got a level full of arcades). city. (omfg you see versace.chanel.LV.gucci at every corner!)
day3:ballarat (gold rush area)w/ the extended relatives.lost my jumper.long ride.it wasnt worth it.
day4:chinatown/city/federation square + phillip island to see the penguins! had pho for lunch at the city, where you can choose between s/m/l. like wtf. southbank (where their nye fireworks are at). saw vic uni. a lot of walking.swanston st = george st. flinders st train station (that sandstone building with the dome below)
day5:melb to syd. coincidence or what? saw the same 2dudes from the syd to melb train. and i felt jet lagged, felt so weird coming back home. it was like, my house has never been this big? hahaha.

  • 2. chinese new year. the usual. the kids get red pocket. have a huge feast. gambling. cny songs on repeat.
  • 3. uts, enrolment day. went all smooth until checkpt. 3 with the timetable arrangements. its so confusing. and why the hell is there only ONE 'marketing foundations' lecture, auto-allocated at 5pm, spring sememster. oh and, its 2bloody hrs!argh. anyway, made a new friend and im going to that IT:O-camp. oh and lucky us, IT students get to do an english test.bloody brilliant. but that doesn't balance out a 2nd email address we got given.
  • 4. cindy's 18th bday party. went to auburn rsl to have lunch. came home, had fun laughing/singing songs we did/didnt know on singstar. like 'the spazzys - my boyfriend's back' omfg, did you know that there was an original of that? its so stupid. so it was good to hang out with the girls, and catch up with all the goss.

  • 5. city. cny parade. darling harbour. glasshouse reception, open day. the frangipani cake, wasn't sure if it was real/fake either way, it was really nice. travel expo. oh and dont you just love the freebies from uts. haha. i love my diary, the inside is so seth cohen's drawings.

wheeee, i got into my 1st preference, ie. BBusiness BComputing @ UTS!! =) so im really happy with that i'll tell you this silly story about the offers today. so i woke up around midday and the mails arrived, hoping to see a big A4 envelope that was addressed to me or a UTS envelope. anyhow, there were no mails for me, thus i started getting nervous and thought oh shit i'm not getting my main round offer. i quickly jumped on the comp and typed in the uac site, and clicked the 'view offers' link. haha, i actually clicked it before reading the main round offer date. and well when they said 9pm, my stress level deflated. that was the first time i got stressed since the hsc.

another funny story. yesterday, it was pouring rain as you might've noticed, the postman kindly rung our doorbell and handed me the mails, one of them was a big A4 envelope, and he's like "hsc results, for you? good, yeah?" and i thought that it was the uni offer, thinking wow they're a day early than expected. i totally forgot about our official hsc certificate. hahaha
other news, im finally getting out of sydney! well, for a short while anyway. im going to melbourne. havent got tickets yet, but parents are thinking this wkend! too bad i wont be at the aus'n open, tickets have been sold out since like nov last yr? so what else is there at melb? the 12 apostles, ballarat(sp?) any tourist sight-seeing places or anything worthwhile to see, please comment. random: sydney is better than melb!

can someone break this habit im repeatedly doing? sleeping at almost 2am every night/day. its kinda weird cause sometimes i dont even remember why i slept so late or what the hell i was doing. although it sounds quite like a hang over, i dont drink. oh gee, this has taken me quite some time to finish due to distractions. hahaha. random note to self: change this christmas theme.

as 2006 quickly creeps by, we say goodbye to 2005, im not sure about you, but this year has been a memorable year for me. so jam packed, which i will recount but i'll probably miss some points, since 2005 was/is actually a year not to be forgotten. its not JUST the year we survived year 12, graduated highschool, completed our hsc and ready to end a chapter of our life but look around, watch the news, its evident that 2005 was/is a legend. and im not being bias here, as we are notably the 'legendary class of 2005' but take a look at the news, and i'll rewind back to jan right through to dec.

    january
ok, well maybe i cant recapture everything that happend since it was pretty much like 11 months ago, but u guys remember how there was waveaid, and how ch7+9+10 teamed up together to raise money for victims of the tsunami? oh its called "reach out to asia" in terms of aus'n politics, we have mark latham quitting labor + parliament, the whole shebang. then in sports, with the aus'n open, the impossible happened. safin beat federrer.

well, judging by the subject of this post, its all pretty much harry potter related, so carry on reading if you believe you reside in the magical world, like me. haha. no seriously, i think i'm like overdosed on hp, i've had dreams about the book. i would recount it, but umm i tend to forget my dreams... moving along, i've finished reading the 6th book. note: spoiler alert

i thought the 6th book was well written, a little predictable.. but thats maybe because i found out who died before i even read the book. so it didnt surprise me, but u know what? i do actually feel pity for draco, well he is quite often portrayed as a whimp, but i think he doesnt have that evilness in him, to kill dumbledore. poor bugger, like he's threatened and blackmailed but he really wanted dumbledore alive? i feel like reading fanfics of where snape and draco might be headed off to now. and, as for lupin and tonks, that took me by surprise. from harry's assumptions in the beginning, i really thought that she did had some sort of affection for sirius. oh, and harry's uhh 'tobey maguire/spiderman' style of "we cant be together" was i found, very umm, moral? i suppose.i derno, but its one of those superhero cliches kinda thing, like rowling just decided that ginny aint worth it anymore, so to kick her out, lets pull this line out of spiderman 2. i dont know, but now i really want the 7th book, has rowling started writing yet?im guessing that prob in the last edition, the harry+ron+hermione will die or harry defeats voldemort but im not too sure if rowling will end it like that.. i mean shes already killed off the characters readers like. ie. sirius + dumbledore. but all i can say is, we have to patiently wait for the next book.

oh yeh, i've also watched harry potter and the goblet of fire. i thought it was ok. just that, there were less talking and it seemed to have went by heaps quick. i mean, fleur and krum they only spoke like 2 or 3sentences. and cedric, well ok, at certain angles he does actually look pretty good. but oliver wood beats him anyday. and cho, its weird hearing an asian speaking in a scottish/irish accent. but i must say, the yule ball scene was pretty funny.and mad-eye moddy, well the band that it has around his head, looks like black paint. ahaha. and im amazed at how they've all grown up pretty fast. like, when was the 3rd moving out? last yr, wasnt it? just a year between and check out neville! he lost all his baby fat. and ron + draco are heaps tall, when standing next to harry. the weasleys are trying to master the uhh, long hair style thing, that might come into fashion... hahah. and ginny, she doesnt have that vibrant/ prominent red hair!! hmm, well the special effects are super awesome, check out the hungarian horntail! but the downside is once again, bits cut out, as always. ah, nonetheless harry potter lives on! =D

i expected to post the day after the formal! and all that time during and prior the hsc, i thought i would be one of those blog whores. well, i thought wrong. so the past 4days have been a mix of happiness/sadness. thurs (1/12) was BGHS FORMAL, the legendary class of 2005! held at le montage, leichardt. it was a nice quiet place, catered only to us! =) overall it was good, the food kinda sucked. entree was ok, main course well i shouldnt have swapped the steak for the chicken! and the dessert was average. so i think many of u had your complaints about the food and how the waiters stole our plates before we actually finished eating..*shakes head* bad service? well, dance floor only started filling up after all the dishes were finished.so what did u guys (those who departed at 10 miss out?) well nothing actually, except the fact that u missed out nicking the roses and menus and candles. haha. ermm, so how did my photos turn out? not that very nice gRR >=/ so im pretty much desperate for all your photos!i'll b happy to accept via email/net/snail mail/next group outing..

on the contrary, fri if u guys have been following the news/media u will have heard that van ngyuen was executed, and the whole atmosphere totally changed. if u saw on tv, at melb and at martin place there were a lot of ppl shedding tears. it didnt just trigger the whole nation, but globally, as well. the colloseum was very much against capital punishment. even mother nature reflected our moods. the past wk (this is esp for pauline + chris) was raining heavily but luckily we had perfect weather conditions on thurs. thanku. so on fri, surrounded by this melancholy feeling i did nothing... and u know what that whole event reminded me of? hamlet/ros and guil! well, cant escape from eng. life is meaningless, uncertain of everything except death. hmm, yes so thanku transformations. no, that wasnt sarcasm

and finally on sat, i uploaded my photos and, as u know discovered that the photos turned crappy. i dont even have one good group photo. ahh, so tough luck if u wanted to go check out the pics. so what else did i do? read hp5, havent finished it yet, but this book is soo short! for those of u who have read it, and know it inside out. i was literally laughing out loud, when 'lavvy' mentioned 'won-won' haha all these little relationships reflects very much of stereotypical teen love. and, as for the hp movie, i am currently d/l and its going mega slow, ave 10kb but i know i'll watch it at the cinemas, anyway. so tues tightarse day is booked.

lets run along to sun, because i dont remember what else i did on sat, except hp, and oh yeh, watching gilmore girls whilst flicking to one tree hill. hahah. so as u may b aware, which i think not, besides sue. haha. my shopping habit is becoming obsessive. ah yes, so i finally got to dfo, unfortunately i didnt see anything really nice until i walked into esprit and found a really trendy dark green/khaki tote bag, and im loving it! i would post up a pic, but i cbf plugging in the usb and all. and it was only $20.95! =D as it was a 30% off storewide. and well, i still want other things off my wishlist, which i will post later..

and here is mon. plans for today? well apparently domayne have a sale till 11pm tonight, so i think i'll head out and check out wardrobes. and i also want to get inspired so that i can renovate, or in other words, rearrange my room. if anyone has actually seen my room, well its very small, half the space is taken by my L-shaped table. so if u guys do have any ideas, then please tell me! and, last of all, welcome to those of u who have taken a look at my msn nickname and typed in the address, as followed. the only puropse of the 'ad' was so that more ppl could read my blog. the only person who is actually aware that i even have a livejournal is sue. so thanku for reading and responding to my indifferent posts. maybe indifferent is not the right word to use.. but ah, point is guys, just comment so i know that people are actually taking note of me. even if i hardly talk to you or a stranger on my msn list whose half way across the globe. btw, im cindy. thanks =)

so i've been surrounded by the festive christmas atmosphere, and hey, y not a christmas look? since i haven't been updating in a while, i'll just recount my wk. well mon was good, thanx sue for your hospitality. only chris and linda came, and we had heaps of fun. a trek to the suburb trying to become a city was pretty funny. we bumped into paris hilton's fragrance, which is only 'for men' lmao. and took turns holding the pizza. and teenyboppers were around us in easy way, haha. after a 15-20min walk, we were so tired except linda who wanted to play table tennis. and after having pizza, it was time to burn the fat by playing eyetoy! =) that game is so coool, haha should've seen our individual shots. tues came along, and went to city to look for my formal shoes, and the only one that i really liked was that gino puccuni one from myer. they didnt have the colour i wanted, so today, went to parra to go get them. so my shoes cost more than my formal dress. shoes were $100 and formal dress, well actually i lied last post, its actually $90 but i had a $50 voucher, so yeaaa. and what else am i in need of? handbag and a cropped cardigan, in case it gets cold. i really wanna go to dfo tomorrow after hearing what sue got and the bargains they've got hanging around. uh huh 2wks of shopping, am i sick of it yet? yeh prob, but when a bargain comes around, consumer demand obviously overrides will power! yes, will power...

argh, i just blogged, but my curiosity side edged me to click on this question mark, little did i know, it didnt save my post and so when i went back, my whole entry was gone >=| *hmph* so a quick summary of what i wrote
i finally got my formal dress, screwed that pink/purple top i told u guys about.its got beads/sequins/jewels stuff around it, and it was only $40, from myer! what a bargain =D yea, so i fnally got a dress after 2days and a bit of formal shopping. sun, i trekked to the city, and found nothing but there was this really cute blue dress in one of those honky stores on the streeets, but it was like $175, outta my budget. so i guess its time to go handbag/shoes/accessories hunting. =) so what else have i been doing besides shopping? well, i've beeen watching ALIAS season1, and watchd 2 epi of The OC. summer + seth are soo cute =') oh, i finally got around cleaning my eco stuff yesterday, haha. yeh, 3days after the HSC i got round to it, about time. and u know what else? my yr11 stuff is still in my draw. i'm also getting inspired from my collection of old DOLLY mags, ahh back in the good old days where it was only for $1 =) and lunchpacks, were only for like 50c. haha. ah, well i think i might get creative and do something to my room now. so i'll cya guys on thurs.
